ABOUT US
Hi! I'm Christy. I am a maker/designer based in Northern CA. I love experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques but my favorite is natural indigo and the resist-dye method, Shibori. My love for Shibori has led me to specialize in hand-dyed works designed to transform your space. A backdrop or table linens for your wedding. A pop of color and pattern for your beloved kitchen. An added textural detail to your photographs...
My husband, Nick and I, have been hand-dyeing with indigo since 2015, when my best friend Kelly brought over a Shibori kit for all of us to experiment. We spent days creating patterns. We were folding, twisting, and binding every piece of white fabric we could find (even socks, ha)! We dipped our fabrics into the indigo vat and pulled them out to discover an amazing forest green color. We placed them on our drying surface and watched them oxidize to a beautiful deep blue. It was fascinating. We took turns unfolding our fabric, revealing our new patterns. The element of surprise combined with the patience required throughout the Shibori process made us fall in love with it and even today, its just as exciting as that first day.
Everything we create is hand-dyed in our rural outdoor space with our kids and great pyrenees dog running around.
